Did Ouri's being the child of a Shikabane had any significance as a plot vehicle to progress the story? or was it a standalone plot device for developing the subplot of the Ichigo-like Shichisei and the cat?ģ. Was there any special gain for the Shichisei at having slaughtered the Hoshimura clan and having Makina to turn into a Shikabane Hime?Ģ. Meanwhile, Shikabane Hime doesn't give off answers to addressed questions:ġ. Honestly, I compare Shikabane Hime's ending loosely to Venus Versus Virus's ending.īoth series ended in cliffhangers, though VVV had tied all loose knots albeit rushed by the time of the last climax. What they only brought closure is that Ouri's classmates brought to Ouri the topic of Omune-sama's dissapearance and her death.Īt the end, Makina chose to live and fight until she can conclude her vendetta against Hokuto. The other Shichisei's demise was practical lame once balloon-head let herself killed, BTW. Hokuto went bonkers on Akasha after the latter left her for his previous Shikabane Hime's corpse (necrophile isn't he? ) and torn him off from waist down with a uppercut, that literally sent his Shikabane Hime and his torso to heavens. It packed until Hazama and Hokuto escaped, and then everything went as if they showcased the slowly, peaceful resolution after the final battle.Īkasha's performance bombed once Sadahiro and Akira gunned down the graveyard to expose the coffin of the former's Shikabane Hime. Even though this was not a GAINAX ending, my expression was like this from the second-half of the episode towards the end.
